The CIP (Cleaning In Place) system is an automated cleaning system used in the pharmaceutical sector, which allows for the cleaning of production equipment, including tanks, pipes, filters, and heat exchangers, without the need for disassembly.
The CIP system consists of a series of tanks containing water and detergent and disinfectant solutions, which are pumped through the pipes of the equipment to be cleaned. During the cleaning cycle, water and detergent and disinfectant solutions are evenly distributed through water jets and washing heads. In this way, the internal surfaces of the equipment are perfectly cleaned and disinfected, eliminating bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants.
The CIP system offers several advantages over manual cleaning, such as greater efficiency, time and labor savings, greater control over cleaning quality, and increased operator safety.
